Episode 004 – Premieres APRIL 28, 2026
In the latest episode of Deep Space Degenerates, tensions hit an all-time high as Zaw and Greggers attempt the impossible: escaping a rapidly escalating mob of furious wedding guests... without being noticed. (Spoiler: they are absolutely noticed.) Meanwhile, Lore faces a far more terrifying challenge—the spaceport restrooms.
What begins as a simple pit stop spirals into a surreal nightmare filled with:
- Singing orchids that definitely have opinions
- Facilities that raise more questions than answers
- Decisions no one should ever have to make under pressure
As Zaw and Greggers' “quiet escape” devolves into full-blown chaos, Lore is forced to confront the ultimate question: Which is worse—the mob… or the bathroom?
This episode cranks up the absurdity, doubles down on the tension, and delivers some of the most hilariously uncomfortable moments yet. If you thought space travel was dangerous, wait until you see the restrooms. Watch on YouTube
THE SCI FI BOOK CLUB MAY BOOK
Her Smoke Rose Up Forever
- James Tiptree Jr. (1990)
For May, we will be reading another short story collection. Following April’s selection, Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy 2025, we’ll turn to an older anthology. This collection features stories by a science fiction writer who remained cloaked in mystery for years.

More About the Book Direct from this amazing Portalist article:
"James Tiptree Jr. left an enduring mark on modern speculative fiction — but she's perhaps more mysterious and enigmatic today than ever before.
Tiptree was one of the pen names used by female sci-fi author Alice Bradley Sheldon (née Alice Hastings Bradley). The daughter of prolific fiction writer Mary Hastings Bradley, Sheldon may have been born with the gift of words, but her path to literary success wasn’t clear-cut.
To join a Book Club meeting, all you will need is YOURSELF. If you haven’t had a chance to finish the book, we still would love for you to join us in the discussion. Not able to join us in person for events? The Sci Fi Book Club is on Discord. Join us and keep the conversation going.
INTRODUCING CYBER CLUB!
A Digital Community For Independent Film
Brooklyn SciFi and the team at Cyber-NY are working on something new. We're building an independent network for film professionals to share and monetize their work while connecting with fans. Our hope is to create a community with a year-round presence that encourages collaboration and the development of an independent streaming platform.
We're looking for intrepid filmmakers to join our beta for free by creating an account profile and uploading several films they're okay with sharing. We won't make your work public without prior consent, and our admin tools allow for self-management and deletion of videos.
We hope you'll join us on this journey as we navigate the changing landscape of art house cinema and independent film. Please sign up for our private beta if you're interested, or reply to this email with questions.
