We're assembling the first-ever Brooklyn SciFi Film Festival Zine, and we want to feature your work.
Calling all filmmakers and artists, you're invited to share any still media you've created that relates to science fiction. Storyboards, posters, concept art, comics, short stories, film stills, anything scifi you want to share! The zine will also include past BSFFF event banners, stories from creators, and info about this year's festival. It will be printed and distributed at the festival, so please only submit work you’re comfortable putting out into the world.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions must be black, white, or grayscale and may include red as an accent color if you wish. Use this link to tell us about yourself and upload your files. JPEG, PNG, and PDF formats are accepted; files should be high-resolution and print-ready at 300 DPI, sized to 8.5" x 11". You're welcome to include your website or social handle directly in the artwork. We hope you’ll take part. We want to celebrate our filmmaking community and the stories you tell.
Submit online or reply to this email for additional details. The Submission Deadline is September 5th.
HOW MANY MOONS DOES URANUS HAVE?

The Sci Fi Book Club Featured Book for September

Leviathan Wakes - James S.A. Corey
The Expanse is a sprawling 10-book series that explores the unknowns of the universe and the cost of human ambition. It is well-written and masterfully translated to the TV series (streaming on Amazon). If you haven't watched the series yet, do yourself a favor and read this book first. James S.A. Corey (actually a pen name for a collaboration between Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck) writes a deeply personal and engaging story in the first novel of the series.
Leviathan Wakes is a hard book to put down. I'll bet that, upon finishing it, you'll want to dive headlong into the next novel. Well, good news! Book Club takes a break every October to focus on the Brooklyn SciFi Film Festival. So we're giving you space (hehe) to read on if you'd like.
